Hi there! We are Rachel & Noah Ray! We are natural light film photographers based in Birmingham, Alabama. We love to capture real moments of love as they unfold, so whether that is here in our home state or half way across the world the one constant we will always seek is love & people.

Not all brides and grooms are full time models and used to being in front of the camera (other than their iphone) so posing naturally can be a little difficult and awkward at times. We (Rachel & Noah Ray) are here to give you a few tips to ensure you look like a natural on your wedding day and make your friends and co-workers think you’ve been an undercover model the whole time!

Tip #1- Take Tyra’s Advice! (smile with your eyes)

For those less smiley more serious poses smiling with your eyes will make for a romantic, timeless image and safeguard you from simply looking ticked off!

Tip #2- Be Natural

We understand that most of our clients are not taking formal pictures everyday, so it can be a little awkward at times. Throughout bride & groom pictures we will at random times ask our clients to look each other in the eyes and think only about each other. Wedding days are hectic and somewhat chaotic and it can be easy to get distracted from what the day is all about, the two of you!! Taking that little moment to reset will assure that your portraits look natural and effortless and the final image will reflect that!

Tip #3- Stay In Touch

You will want your wedding photos to reflect the love that you have for each other. One way to achieve that is to be in physical contact with each other throughout the entire portrait session (unless directed otherwise by the photographer). Holding hands, a soft touch on the shoulder or a hand around the waist in between locations or poses will make for romantically amazing images. It may seem like a no brainer but again your wedding day will be a whirlwind of emotion and activities so when it comes time for those bride & groom photos make sure to be in the moment! Eye contact and a simple touch will be just the thing to calm your nerves, keep your interactions natural and assure that your wedding photos are to die for!
