If you tell us that Deborah Stone and her daughter Alex are doing something new, chances are that we're the first ones to jump on board. We're such fans of this mother daughter duo! When they started the all-natural skin care line Botaniko, it was no different. I, personally, am an addict of their lavender spray. I douse myself in it before I go to sleep almost every night! So in the planning of the pop-up shop for After Hours at the Gardens, I knew that Botaniko had to be a part of it! We know that y'all will be instant fans as well!
Stone Hollow Farmstead, located in Harpersville, Alabama, is an artisanal farm that offers fresh produce, goat’s milk cheeses, free range hen eggs, and now farm-fresh flowers!
Deborah and Alexandra, journeyed to Floret Flower Farm located in the quaint town of Mount Vernon, Washington to learn the art of flower farming. Here, they were taught the ins and outs of flower farming by the flower guru herself, Erin Benzakein. Armed with new knowledge they returned back to Alabama and began planting. These gorgeous flowers are now available for purchase at The Farmstead Pantry in Crestline Village, Monday through Friday. Here you will find single stem and market bouquets fresh from Stone Hollow each day.
In addition to flower farming Deborah and Alexandra grow herbs and florals for the purposes of extracts, tinctures and distillates. They are the active ingredients found in Botaniko Skin, available at The Farmstead Pantry or Botanikō Skin Studio downtown Birmingham. Botaniko Skin places emphasis on the power of natural ingredients; combining nature and current day cosmeceuticals to deliver unsurpassed results. After Hours at the Gardens is Friday, October 7 from 5-7 pm. Admission is free with the purchase of a General Admission ticket to the Antiques Show. We will have a pop-up shop featuring several local makers. Small bites will be provided by Real & Rosemary with custom cocktails from Cathead Vodka and Clyde Mays Whiskey.
